Homework Due 4/11 (Thursday class) & 4/16 (Tuesday class)

  • Complete any cover and/or paper prep for exposed sewing forms (longstitch, coptic, stab bound)

  • Continue work on Final Project: Write a one-page progress report explaining any changes to the plan, discoveries, etc. Produce at least one mock-up of the book that includes the materials you intend to use as well as at least 50% of the text and graphics.

Tools for 4/11 and 4/16

Next class, we’ll work on sewing the coptic bound book. If time allows, we may also work on the stab bound book. For that, you’ll need:

  • Needle
  • Thread [NOTE: almost any kind of thread (waxed linen, embroidery floss, dental floss) will work for coptic, but you may want some especially bulky thread (hemp cord, raffia, etc.) for your stab bound book.]
  • Scissors
