Get Involved

plork bindingCall for Volunteers:

Creating Plorkology: Poems, Stories, and Essays is a major undertaking, and so we will be looking for students to volunteer throughout the process with such things as design and layout, printing, and binding. If you are interested in participating as a volunteer, please contact Meredith at meredith.purvis [at] ubalt.edu

Designated Volunteer Days:

While we will have regular weekly work sessions throughout August & September, we have set aside 5 designated volunteer days that you can attend. You can RSVP for these volunteer days here:

  • Sunday, September 8, 1 – 4 p.m., UB Book Arts Studio, Room 208, LAP Building
  • Wednesday, September 18, 6 – 9 p.m., UB Book Arts Studio, Room 208, LAP Building
  • Saturday, September 21, 1 – 4 p.m., UB Book Arts Studio, Room 208, LAP Building

Don’t know the coptic stitch? That’s okay, we’d still love it you stop by for a visit! You can just hang with us and simply watch books get built.

Weekly Work Sessions

We will be binding the anthology throughout August and September, with regular work days on Wednesdays from about 5:30 – 10 p.m. and on Saturdays from about 1 – 4 p.m. If you aren’t able to attend a designated Volunteer Day, but would still like to join us for a work session, please contact Meredith at meredith.purvis [at] ubalt.edu
